PROCESSING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION BY RES365
- RES365 undertakes to process the personal information (hereinafter referred to as “PI”) of the students and/or the students and their legal guardians applying for accommodation in accordance with the conditions of lawful processing as set out in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act, Act 4 of 2013 as amended from time to time (hereinafter referred to as “POPIA”).
- The students and/or their legal guardians therefore irrevocably and unconditionally agree:
2.1 that he/she/they are notified of the purpose and reason for the collection and processing of his/her/their PI insofar as it relates to RES365’s discharge of its obligations as landlord.
2.2 to absolve RES365 from any liability in terms of POPIA for failing to obtain the student’s and/or their legal guardians’ consent or to notify the student and/or their legal guardians of the reason for the processing of any of the students’ and/or their legal guardians’ PI.
2.3 to the disclosure of his/her/their PI by RES365 to any third party, where RES365 has a legal or contractual duty to disclose such PI.
- PI shall mean: the race, gender, sex, pregnancy, marital status, national or ethnic origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental health, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth of a person; information relating to the education or the medical, financial, criminal or employment history of the person; any identifying number, symbol, email address, physical address, telephone number, location information, online identifier or other particular assignment to the person; the biometric information of the person; the personal opinions, views or preferences of the person; correspondence sent by the person that is implicitly or explicitly of a private or confidential nature or further correspondence that would reveal the contents of the original correspondence; the views or opinions of another individual about the person whether the information is recorded electronically or otherwise.
